What to Wear & Bring to Your First Tang Soo Do Class
Starting your Tang Soo Do journey is exciting, and being prepared will help you feel comfortable and ready to train. Here’s what you’ll need for your first class:
What to Wear
Comfortable Workout Clothing – Wear loose, breathable clothes like a T-shirt and tracksuit/jogging bottoms/leggings (no jeans or restrictive clothing).
Bare Feet – Tang Soo Do is traditionally practiced barefoot, but grip socks are acceptable if needed.
No Jewelry – Remove rings, bracelets, and watches for safety.
Hair Tied Back – If you have long hair, secure it neatly to avoid distractions.
(Note: Once you commit to training, you’ll wear a official Dobok (uniform)—ask your instructor about when to purchase one!)
What to Bring
Water Bottle – Staying hydrated is essential! Bring water or a sports drink (avoid sugary juices during intense training).
Small Towel – Useful for wiping sweat during breaks.
Positive Attitude – Come ready to learn, have fun, and embrace the challenge!
Optional (But Helpful) Extras
Notebook & Pen – Jot down techniques or corrections from your instructor.
Pro Tip: Arrive 5-10 minutes early to meet your instructor, ask questions, and warm up.
